PUBLIC ENEMY ASKS FANS TO FUND NEXT ALBUM

It was a real shame that Public Enemy's last album, the excellent How Do You Sell Soul To A Soulless People Who Sold Their Soul?, didn't get more attention. But for their next one, they are teaming up with SellaBand, which relies on funding from fans to put out albums (and fans then get a share of the profits). I wonder how this business model will work. I hope it works out for them. Public Enemy at one time defined hard-core hip-hop music. At some point, lighter-weight hip-hop became more of the "in" thing. PE never blinked, and didn't try to fit in with whatever the trend was. They are still a huge international touring act, but it would be cool to see them have a hit album.
